Astrology: Icelandic eruption, far from mundane

April 21, 2010

I am no mundane astrologer but armed with two charts for Iceland and an ephemeris i could at a quick glance find some symbolism to match the astrology. I would have liked to used other ‘mundane’ techniques but i know very little [if any] of them, but i feel i still can give a rather quick analysis.

I think what i am about to write will be enough on the subject to anyone with a ‘pop’ interest in astrology and also show what is possible to those who have limited skills and knowledge, ie ‘myself’ and show that it doesn’t bar anyone from doing the same. So if you want to follow what is said here and try not to be a master astrologer, then in truth you’ll be like most astrologers who usually just ‘search around’ for something that fits and comes close.

Iceland’s 1918 chart has Saturn aspecting Lord 4 [lands], and the 1944 chart has Saturn aspecting  Lord 4 too. So ‘the earth moves’. Saturn which is Rx now goes back to 27 degrees and 50 minutes, and this ‘station’ throws an almost exact antiscion aspect to the ’44 chart’s ascending degree, so the ‘country’ is ‘being hammered’ at present.

Now in modern astrology we look at Pluto which has been ‘moving around’ the 4th house for some time perhaps [ready to erupt] but it needed a ‘trigger’, and Mars does it nicely. Mars has recently Retrograded over Iceland’s Pluto ‘perhaps re-awakening her volcano’? and now he has just passed-over it by direct motion and it and it is possible that this has brought-on the ‘eruption’.

Also at this time there’s been a new moon on Iceland’s 8th cusp but what could it mean? i suppose you could look-upon it as how ‘this event’ has affected the trade of many ‘other’ countries, whilst remembering that the 8th house is always connected to ‘others’ wealth. We must also consider that Venus Iceland’s Lord 1 has been conjunct its Moon which is its 10th ruler thus noting how this has put them ‘in the public eye’ and seeing that this Moon is conjunct their 9th house of ‘international’ affairs how it has disrupted so much of Europe.

The Mercury station at 12 degrees of Taurus is 5 degrees away from their Moon but as Mercury is their 12th house ruler, their country undoing itself has certainly took hold. Lastly why has Britain been so affected? well the Mercury station is conjunct our Mars 1801 chart and as such has slowed-down what would otherwise have been our normal rate of activity, for a ‘while’, and with it being in Taurus it has forced people out of the skies and onto the earth.

As i write this restrictions are being lifted, just as Mercury Rx’s away.

Finally i would’ve liked to have seen/used a chart for all Europe but i don’t know of one, if you do know of one please send me a comment and i’ll update this post.

Astrology: And getting the best from the skies

April 17, 2010

Onions; what have they to do with astrology, very little really, except they are layers within layers, and so is life considering we all live within the ‘scope’ of people and events, some of which are bigger and weigh heavier than ourselves or at least it can feel like that.

We live within our ‘country’s charts’ and the events which over-shadow our lives, but today i want to draw your ‘attention’ to the ‘homes’ we live in. Now being astrologically retentive i have over the years kept timed charts for all kinds of things many of which have now ‘run their course’ and many which i have now torn-up thinking why the heck did i do that chart for and hoping i never repeat the mistake of doing such a thing again. Now there are many ‘worthy charts and moving into a new ‘home’ is one of them, as experience has taught me that it can have a strong influence on you even approaching the influence of your ‘natal chart’.

I will soon be moving house again after spending 11 years here, and as i have a choice of dates i am doing some rough electional work in my head, now with Mercury about to go Rx i would like to avoid this time simply because i will be doing lots of writing and publishing in the new place so would like it to be as strong as possible but i may not be able to avoid this. I do have the experience of Mercury and the Moon being very weak ‘when i moved-in here’ and it was hard to ‘get things going’, so i wish to avoid this happening again if possible.

But i did wonder that maybe i tend to get Mercury weakened in matters like this because in my natal chart it is already very strong, especially with its ties to the Moon so it is being ‘tempered’ somewhat by other major things in my life, as i already go off like a rocket mentally, so strong Mercuries may just explode me, at least in the ‘home’ environment.

I also want to get the best start from a ‘place’, and as things always come to an end, [i see for example, i am leaving this property on the progressed Mars opposition Saturn aspect of the chart for taking this present home] so i will let ‘nature’ take its course, at the beginning and end and try not to interfere too much with ‘what is happening’. You see i think we have a choice whether to ‘use’ astrology or not at ‘key times’, the ‘skill’ being to know when to ‘cut-it-out’ as well as to ‘use it’ in life.

I should ‘ideally’ move in on the ‘best choice’ which is Moon in Taurus, which i could do, but i think i’ll move when the Moon is in Aquarius as it’ll suit me better and fit-in with my natal Moon in Gemini even if on that day the Moon is in opposition with Mars, my intercepted 3rd house ruler, which isn’t good, but perhaps reflects my natal chart more than i care to admit.

Astrology: Is one goal of our life, to live out our natal chart?

April 9, 2010

A short post tonight. Question: do you feel more fulfilled when you do things which are shown in your birthchart? that is assuming you know just what it is that your chart is showing you, things that you should do, given half a chance anyway, which lets face it doesn’t always come our way/happen, in this very ‘fixed’ way of life we have to lead most of the time.

I’ll leave you to ponder over that one yourself. Anyhow this was brought to my mind because today i did some voluntary work and i felt in my element with what i did and then thought what is it i am doing right now which is literally making my Sun shine?

I was mixing with other people today, something they used to call ‘society’ which the ‘astrology books’ will tell you is a 7th house matter, i have three planets in the 7th house including the Sun, so i shouldn’t have to tell you that i come alive in the right company. I was also communicating some ‘personal knowledge i’d gained, so ‘sharing’ things which gave me the opportunity to get my Mercury/Mojo working, and i was also in ‘agreeable company’ so my Venus enjoyed the experience, and i was teaching so my Mars which on my 9th cusp felt ‘active’ and i was within a ‘centre’ where people with disabilities use the facilities so again my Jupiter in my 6th house felt ‘at home’, so all in all, i was in the right place doing the right things. Lucky me, i suppose.

I still had to come home to the miserable experience of some ‘neighbours from hell’ so it ain’t all sweetness and light, but as i go to bed tonight i’ll be considering the real benefits of ‘being in the right place at the right time’ and perhaps you will consider how your life plays out too.

Sweet dreams and don’t ‘bust a gut’ trying for the Sun, or whatever planet you want the best from, as you need to be in good health to make the most of things, this being a way of good practice for myself as much as anyone else.
