Astrology: Kings of our ‘National Game’

As i start to write this…

… this ‘Sunday’ sees the climax to the English Premier League Season, and the Winner will only be known from the final day’s results, [which isn’t always the case], as it is often known and settled much earlier.

This year It can only be Manchester City or Manchester United who will win, with City having the advantage of ‘more goals scored’ up-to-now, which could end-up being ‘decisive’ if both teams win their respective games on Sunday.

And that means that United’s fans ‘know’ they could win their game and still be ‘losers’ if City win too, [all by ‘goal difference’]; and that’s not a ‘nice’ position to be in, ‘doing your best’ and still failing.

So i thought i would draw-up a Horary chart to see if Man City would win the league title?. So at 23:16 on 10th May 2012 BST at Cromer, Norfolk, England i cast the chart.

But [it must be said] that with only ‘one’ game to go, this ‘chart’ wasn’t ever going to be the ‘same’, as when asking the same question at the beginning of the ‘race/season’, indeed it may have been more accurate to ask, Will they win this one remaining game?, and hence the Premier League title.

But as this Horary is more about Man City’s ‘title’ chances than anything else, and not really even about this ‘days’ opponents QPR; i give the 7th house to the title challenger’s, and City’s real-life enemies ‘United’.

So some background.

But first: [i just want to say that i]really wanted to call this post ‘had they already done enough’?

Because prior to the last match ‘many people’ thought all City had to do was ‘win’ against QPR, [an easy enough task, many thought], and as they already had a greater ‘goal difference’ than United it would be ‘this’ that would help them to the ‘title’. Because no-one expects United to lose their game, so City must win too.

So, i gave the ‘chart’ a look, and in ‘another post’, on my other blog, [The Astrological World], i gave my initial findings, which were City wouldn’t ‘do it’ because of a vital aspect which didn’t perfect. But [i also said] that with some lea-way and hard work, they may just pull-it-off, as ‘so much’ was already in their favour, and that aspect could perform for them, even at 1 minute from perfection..

And as i continue to write this ‘post’, [some two days later] i already know that City has won the title, [as the game has been played].

So part of this post will be ‘on’ why i got it wrong, which to be ‘honest’ is because i did not re-read John Frawley’s book ‘Sports Astrology’ before making the/my prediction, and so missed-out-on some vital information.

So here’s how it panned-out United were winning comfortably at Sunderland, with no threat of losing, and they did win their match, so City must win also, but mid way through their match ‘what was’ a 1-0 advantage was now looking like a 1-2 defeat, and with only 4 minutes left it seemed they had no chance of winning, [a bit like Manchester United in the 1999 European Cup], but it then became 2-2 and with seconds to the final whistle it became 3-2 to City, and they were Champions, and suddenly it meant ‘United’ knew what it felt like to lose by two quick ‘late’ goals, and it meant City were Champions for the first time in 44 years. And much jubilation followed.

So, in the chart the Ascendant and its lord are given to City as i consider them ‘my’ team. And United gets the 7th house, as they are the ‘only’ other ‘opposition’ who can win the league.

Now, Lord 1 is Jupiter, ruler over 20 degrees of Sagittarius on the Ascendant, and it is ‘combust’ in the 5th house of ‘games’, and that is not good for City. But somehow it ‘fits’ as they have been in the ‘shadow’ of United most of the Season, and more so now, right at the ‘end’ of it.

‘Combustion’ is the worst of afflictions, [so it is said], and Jupiter is going into further combustion making it look like further badness to come. But in some real ‘context’ it ‘means’ that the United ‘threat’ still looms large over them.

But in ‘this’ chart we can keep the ‘combustion’ as meaning just ‘that’, and take the ‘second’ 1st house ruler ‘Saturn’ as the more appropriate significator, ‘as is’ seen of a planet in its exaltation, fitting this ‘team’, [and its ‘accidental’ position in the chart] making sense too, with all the appropriate aspects too.

So, with this ‘prediction’ so late in the season its not surprising to see that ‘United’ are given ‘Mercury’ as lord 7, and it makes a nice ‘trine’ with reception to Mars lord 4 of the chart, which gives them a clear path to victory if City slip-up, which ‘of course’ is what you’d expect to see in the chart, [as its reflecting a real-life situation], but this ‘time’ it seems that City’s desire to ‘win’ was just as strong or stronger.

And now we’ll come to ‘why’.

City’s lord 1 is Saturn, and Venus is their 10th house ruler. The Moon is void, and that can be seen as meaning there will be no changes to how the ‘situation’ was before the last game was played, and this question was asked, [with City on-top of the table], and ‘so’ again after the game.

Now in my original ‘answer’ i said City would ‘lose’ because Venus, lord 10, trined Saturn lord 1 with an aspect which never perfects, [although it comes damn close ‘by just 1 minute on the 16th of May], and i am sure i read somewhere that even when an aspect doesn’t perfect by 1 minute, you cannot give it as ‘perfected’, and the ‘thing’ asked about will not happen, hence the prediction.

But i also read it can happen ‘perfect’ with a superhuman effort, and in the end that is just what City ‘did’ to become Champions, but i’m still not satisfied that that was enough, and that ‘something else’ in this chart helped them, [more on this at the end of post].

Note: its worth remembering that this Venus Saturn trine aspect sees Saturn with strength, meaning ‘City’ just wanted it more, and would have ‘power’ to help them succeed.

And it’s also an odd-thing, but both these planets are retrograde, and this showed the ‘right’ symbolism, ‘that of’ a return to glory [lord 10], and as a strong team, [lord 1].

Now to the ‘answer’ which i missed when i said they wouldn’t win, all because i missed the most important ‘factors’ in this type of question.

That of, what planets aspected lord 10?, and ‘did’ any planet conjunct the MC [10th cusp], to give the right ‘answer’.

So did any planet aspect lord 10 Venus?, yes, as we know Saturn does.
Saturn is also on the M.C., [which is exactly what we want to see] but is retrograding away from it, [which means it cannot count, i think, by placement alone] so again doesn’t make the very ‘perfection’ we are looking for, but wait a moment, what is the Moon doing?

All the pieces are in place, but it looks like failure ‘at the last’, just ‘as in’ the real game, then…

… the Moon separates from Saturn and applies to the 10th cusp.

And its a close run-thing, as at 26 07 Capricorn the Moon squares the 10th cusp, at 26 19.

But it ‘has’ to be this ‘final’ piece that brings it all-together, the Moon afterall is the flow of events, and it was all very last ‘minute’ [close] stuff, and the 10th cusp is, up-there, as significator of ULTIMATE/TOTAL VICTORY.

Astrology: The transit of Venus

As a reader of ‘Horoscope’ magazine i’ve just read an article on Jonathon Cainer, it was ok, but what really ‘got me’ was him talking of a June 6th 2012 ‘Transit of Venus’, which happens every hundred years or so.

It will occur around 15 degrees 45 minutes of Gemini, and that’s almost half way between my Jupiter at 15 15 Gemini and my Moon at 16 24 of Gemini.

Is this significant? i’ve no way of knowing, but it may turn-out to be. Because any ‘thing’ that happens in conjunction to your planets has to be taken as affecting you closely.

Cainer says it means “we will become more loving and loveable”, now its odd but i have been struggling with ‘that’ recently, [over the past few years] with me being distinctly less loveable and loving, so God knows if i’ll ‘crack it’, it seems to me that i have acted in the ‘way’ of ‘i don’t want to’, but now i feel that ‘force’ is changing/coming to an end, and the chance to ‘change’ may be ending for me, and i’ll be left how i am, just not that loving.

Now he says it also affects other Venusian things, but whether i am being ‘more creative’ [which i certainly have been lately] ‘posting’ wise, is because of the ‘Venus transit’ i can’t truly say, but its possible i suppose.

He also talks of ‘Cosmic Guidance’ and some of my ‘posts’ sometimes feel like this is happening, but being realistic i do have a ‘lot’ inside of me to come out, so it is probably just that. But then again Guidance could take-on many forms and i may just be ignorant of ‘what is’ really happening.

Note: there’s not much written on the ‘Transit of Venus’, and i don’t place much ‘store’ in it, [despite what i’ve just said], but it is worth posting about if only because you may believe you are feeling its influence, and may have planets close to 15 45 Gemini, and wish to explore it in your life.

Final Note: De Vore says they happen in pairs and this ‘one’ follows on from the one on the 8th of June 2004. But unlike Cainer he gives no actual information on ‘what to expect’.

So that’s it i suppose, ‘much ado about nothing’ maybe. But i’ll still keep an eye on what happens in the World around June 6th, [that’s all you can do really].

Astrology: Forecasting 2012; May

To start with, there’s going to be nothing ‘original’ in this post, just your standard ‘fare’ as i can’t think of any new angle in which to attack you with, but that’s just too bad. Anyway let’s see ‘what’ i can dream-up; as i’ll be as intuitive as i can be.

Then he had some second thoughts, why not try some ‘solid’ prediction, after all what is there to lose? only being ‘wrong’, [that’s what], and what’s the shame in that, at least ‘i tried’, i say.

So remember they are my best ‘shots’ based on my best knowledge, so if i’m wrong ‘give me break’, its harder to stick-your-neck-out than you may think, [unless you know you are going to be almost 100% correct, or totally wrong].

Firstly the main pieces; Venus is going retrograde on the 15th and will remain so for the rest of May. And Saturn is still Rx, and Jupiter is rushing-through 20 to 27 degrees of Taurus, that’s what i consider to be the main thrust of this month, but it doesn’t tell us that much, [in this form] does it.

Mercury starts May at over 60 degrees from Venus, and ends May almost in conjunction, that’s a pretty quick turnaround.

Now, for the daily forecasts. These are non-specific, [for all the signs], meaning, for ‘everyone’.

On the 1st we get a ‘set’ of aspects which have to produce a good day all round, as the Moon in Virgo conjuncts Mars, going-on to trine the Sun in Taurus and trine Jupiter there too. So, no actual ‘prediction’ as such, just enjoy these good aspects.

2nd, no major aspects, and dull evening, with an early morning Moon sign change.

All of the 3rd, building-up to the Mercury Venus sextile aspect, [look-out for the unusual in your life], and consider doing something different, and if you’re not ‘busy’, just think about ‘changes’ tonight.

4th, 3 to 7 pm, [if in England], BST, consider the perils of being alone and happy, ‘compared’ to attached and miserable.

Early hours of the 5th, have Sex. Evening hours, your ‘life’ and your ‘talk’ may see you in a splitting-up ‘weird’ and self-centred mood, so watch-out, unless you want that to happen of course.

6th, you may be picking-up-the-pieces or still causing more damage.

9th, Mercury enters Taurus, thoughts and feelings are slow and solid from now on, but you may not realise [they are ‘so’] until Mercury enters Gemini. Also; Midday to 24 hrs later we are in the ‘throws’ of a lovely Grand Earth trine, so get thinking and talking with depth and sincerity to those close to you, and enjoy the connectivity of the day.

Late on the 12th, and the early hours of the 13th, lots potentially can happen, and many will talk and talk in these ‘few’ hours, cramming a lot in; whereas others will value a ‘little’ said but ‘lots’ meant.

Later about 14:23 on the 13th we have Jupiter in exact conjunction to the Sun, so its a case of ‘who or what’ strong influence will you be ‘under’? and where will you run to and hide. Because you’re sure to be ‘wanting’ to be in as ‘safe’ as place as you can find.

Later-on Mercury and Mars slap each other on the back in a mutual love ‘fest’, so reel-off some ‘thing’ which needs to be said quickly, and try to gain some ‘firm’ resolution on any matter which is still hanging in the air.
Quite a 13th, i believe.

The afternoon and night of the 15th should see ‘you’ in [reflective mood] and simply ‘not up to much’.

The evening of the 16th sees Jupiter make an exact Quincunx aspect to Saturn, so some will feel like they’ve hit a personal ‘milestone’, whilst others will just watch wordly events unfold, right-up to the evening of the 17th, and ‘with’ so much ‘outer’ planet activity ‘just now’, i wonder what might develop? It could be big.

18th, 19th and 20th lots of ‘earth’ activity, including conjunctions to Mercury and Jupiter, [the commercial and financial planets], so investment for the future sounds good for the individual. But in the ‘World’ we may see massive ‘gambles’ or ‘new projects’ with projected profits being announced, all may seem ‘rosy’, especially as the conjunction is all being brought together by a buoyant Moon.

The 20th sees a New Moon in the very early degrees of Gemini, but its a Solar Eclipse, so we warn against newly thought-up commercial idea’s, and perhaps you should think ‘twice’ about going into partnerships too.

22nd: wake up ‘bouncy’, go to bed rather more subdued and insightful.

24th: Midday, well Mercury didn’t take much time to get through Taurus, so now you should really be ‘up’ for ‘life’, although there’s no serious Mercury activity until very early on the 26th.

And with a Sun conjunct Mercury aspect hot on its heels, [12 noon on the 27th], we might just wonder where all the ‘wonderful’ spark that could be ‘happening’ is gone, unless you’re lucky enough to be near a youthful and shining source of ‘fun’ and ‘entertainment’.

The remainder of the month can be great, but if you are looking for a total rave-up i suggest all through the evening and night of the 30th/31st would set those nerves a jangling, and be like a ‘youthful’ party where its ‘banging’, and for the rest [who’s scene it is not] just enjoy it whichever way you can.

Its that whole bank-holiday, ‘Jubilee’ thing in the UK, and many will be at Party Central; i may have a drink myself.
